Brussels was the (capital) First City of The Netherlands in 1430 and naturally became the City of the Belgium Kingdom in 1830.  The Grand Place with the buildings was built in the Middle Ages for the "Corporations" (trad guild) then, the business shops and industries of that time.  This Grand Place was totally destroyed in 1695 by the French Army under the command of the Marechal de Villeroi.

Bruxelles était la capitale des Pays-Bas en 1430 et devint naturellement la capitale du Royaume de Belgique en 1830.  La Grand - Place a été construite au Moyen-Âge pour les "Corporations" (La Guilde) donc, les affaires, les échoppes et les industries en ce temps-là.  La Grand-Place fut entièrement détruite en 1695 par l'Armée française sous le Commandement du Maréchal de Villeroi.
